***** Inter Galactic News *****

*** Here Is The News ***

Superfluous greetings, mellow citizens of the Peripheries.

All is well, all is good.

But beware the unclean. Beware the heretic.

Beware the alien.

Praise the Emperor Lysander, he is our sword, he is our shield.

*** Rebels Routed ***

Empire forces continue to throw back rebel Detinus positions in the Trans-spiral periphery, as the EMP offensive continues for another week. Two systems are secure, with fierce fighting reported in a third, the Mantis system.

Could the Detinus Republic be on the verge of collapse? The Emperor certainly hopes so.

*** Senator Killed ***

The rebel Senator known as ‘Fiona Storm’ has been killed in fighting in the Mantis system, the following press release was made regarding the incident:

From the Secretary of the Office of Fiona Storm:

Senator Fiona Storm, daughter of Maxwell and Morgainne Storm, was killed in the Mantis system today by invading Imperial forces. Throughout her life she fought for species rights. She appreciated the uniqueness of alien cultures. She deeply believed that all species should work together to build a greater society, enhancing exploration of the universe through their unique perspectives. She had fought for the last several years to protect the hive races against the predjudice and xenophobia of expanding human incursions. She died as she lived, rushing to the aid of embattled DTR forces on the hive world of Metallycidae, personally evacuating hive workers from the combat zone. She was 28 years old. Memorial services have not been planned at this time.

*** The Great Race ***

As the thrilling race continues, the two entrants of Paul Kantner appear to be lagging behind Senator Archer’s vessel. The latest update is as follows:

On day eight of the race, both of Mr Kantner's teams made it to the Coreward General Store, but, they are lagging far behind Ms Archer's entrant which was last seen checking in at Farigian 1 at frantic speed with now only the long leg back to Solo Gate Rest Stop to go before they can claim victory and the one million stellars!

Can anyone now imagine a miracle of the kind that might save Mr Kantner's hopeless-looking position in the race? Is he merely biding his time? Are all bets lost? Answers on a postcard to the Commentators Booth.

Follow all the updates on the Nexus!

*** DEN Vs FET ***

A skirmish has erupted in the Curly system between FET vessels belonging to the Empire, and the unreliable Dewiek.

Despite being outnumbered 3 to 1, the Dewiek appear to be holding their own and inflicting heavy damage on the FET force.

There are no reported ship casualties as of yet.

###/// commence subliminal /// rampaging alien hordes coming for you /// eating your children ///###

*** Halo ***

There are reports that the HBO have intervened in a battle deemed to be in violation of Halo system laws. It is unclear who the combatants are, but they are thought to involve the HEX, GCE and USN.

Aliens killing aliens. The will of the True One.

*** Have You Seen Kang? ***

A reward is offered for any sightings of the alien Overlord known as ‘Kang’.

Please contact the staff of the SSS with any information.

A reward of one million stellars is offered to any information leading to his capture.

*** Wimble Announcement ***

Greetings traders,

In an attempt to sate the insatiable, the Wimble Nations have opened several markets purchasing trade goods.

Trade stations can be found in Wimbledon, Boarderland and Yank.

By offering some of the best prices in the peripheries, we hope to encourage traders to consider one-way trips, as saleable goods are currently in short supply.

If you have trade goods to sell and they do not appear on the markets, contact Solitude with the details.

Please also note that number of trained troops are currently on offer. First come, first served.

In peace. In trade.

Grandfather Treebore Hokenawan
The Wimble Nations

*** Filthy Alien Scum ***

Vile Flagritz news sources have been carrying the following story this week, showing the true colours of all aliens:

Special Action/Fornfell/Feast of Honour/214.11
Warrior prisoners from the Confederacy are brought before the feasters where they are dragged along, some already in a drugged state, to be poked and prodded by various elite. An attending waiter takes notes before the prisoners are taken away to be cleaned and prepared for the main course.
Feasting, debauchery and a few duals mark what most (the dead and the consumed notwithstanding) consider a great success though not one to repeat soon.

*** Agripeta Wormhole ***

Flagritz and Ulian forces have clashed again, this time at the Agripeta Wormhole when a large Flagritz strike force moved to engage the Ulian outpost Halo Respawn Point.

Brisk fighting broke out as Ulian forces moved to defend the outpost.

The second day of combat saw a squadron of 9 Flagritz freighters enter the battle zone, and promptly get blown up as the FLZ warships appear to have withdraw the same day, leaving their trader caste cousins to face the music, in fine Flagritz tradition.

*** Pirates Defeated ***

Two Detinus Rebel vessels have been attacked by strong-minded pirates in the Kastor system this week. Unfortunately both boarding attempts narrowly failed, and the rebels escaped unharmed.

*** G.I.T. Press Release ***

Greetings all.
Gaijin's secretary here. I am releasing this to inform those who follow his exploits of what has happened lately. Gaijin and his wife were unfortunately unable to attend the Golden Kang Awards ceremony due to the fact that Mashita happened to go into labour a mere 12 hours before the ceremony was due to begin.
Gaijin rushed her to the hospital and stayed by her side the entire time.
Rumours that Mashita was using some 'colourful' language and saying how much she HATED Gaijin, are of course false. Mashita loves her husband and would NEVER threaten to 'cut off his meat and two veg' for putting her through the 'experience' of child-birth.
Well their son was born - a very healthy 5Kgs in weight. Mashita was quoted as being 'exhausted' after the birth. Both mother and son are doing fine though.
They have confirmed that - although Mashita wanted to name their son after her father - they have (finally) agreed to name him Usa after Gaijin's friend and employee Usa Mandrill. So the Dakana family has now grown by one.
Gaijin has - temporarily - suspended all operations at G.I.T., save for administration (such as myself) while he spends some time at home with his wife and son. He does however hope to return to 'business as usual' very soon.
As Gaijin is unwilling to take any correspondence at this time, any business pertaining to G.I.T. should be directed to me, Marcus Levitt c/o Gaijin's office.
I hope you will all join me in wishing the family all the very best for the future and that little Usa grows up strong and healthy.
Thank you for your time.
Marcus Levitt - PA to Gaijin Dakana
