*** Storm Go Boom ***

The conflict between the KRL and the USN is turning increasingly nasty in the Storm system, as the Ulians have unleashed a little short of 300 AM missiles against Krell positions in orbit of Storm, destroying five heavy cruisers and seriously damaging another, for no losses amongst themselves.

Undeterred the KRL committed another wave of Broadsword to the battle the following day. However the USN still held the upper hand, destroying a further four KRL cruisers for again, no losses amongst themselves, suggesting that the Krell were committing typically high-tech Krell technology to the fight.

Which is to say, pointy sticks and rocks.

The Krell being Krell decided to reinforce this defeat on the third day by throwing yet more Broadswords into the attack. These ships however, being late to the battle, were the ‘third rank Krell’, and reports indicate that some of them had to be propelled into battle by Krell Marines wielding fire extinguishers on the hulls for extra thrust.

Five more Krell ships were destroyed. Although the Krellian defensive platform Inversion Defender was somehow still in the fight, despite taking heavy damage from the USN fleet.

Day four of the conflict saw the KRL platform take severe damage, as the Krell apparently ran out of useless Broadswords to throw into the battle, allowing the conflict to tip heavily in favour of the USN. Although a squadron of Mercenary vessels did turn up, destroying three USN vessels. It remains to be seen if the Mercs will make a difference, or even stick around. Deplorably unreliable, mercenaries.

Krell civilians on the planet below are understood to be holding impromptu parties as at long lost, more radioactive fallout is scattered upon them.

Way back on Old Earth, in the days of Communism, a young, newly-married western diplomat got a new posting to Moscow late in the year. Naturally, he took his bride with him to the Soviet Union. A combined FET/HEX fleet has taken out a newly built 121 hull RIP platform over somewhere called Kaeop. Then began an orbital bombardment of a RIP outpost, reducing it from 71kmus in size to 21kmus by the end of the week.

And most of that 21kmus was probably rubble.
