Common Dressler worms breed like flies, feasting on starbase biological effluent. Once treated and cooked however they will provide for the basic nutritional needs. Worlds generally purchase this cheap source of food as a last resort. A special action can be used to slaughter the livestock, converting it into half the mass of standard food (item 30048).
On a world that does not require domes, alien livestock can be used to breed more worms.
A special action will use 10,000worms as breeding stock to produce more worms.This will effectively set up a resource in the location of the starbase with a yield of 100, a change of 1% and a 10% drop of 1. The 10% drop can be increased by 1 and for every 10,000mu's of worms used to improve the breeding stock.
Note that a low pass scan may well detect huge breeding programs even if they do not detect the starbase.
Worms are worth less than both cattle and animals.
