GCS Leave Earth

The imperial news agencies are carrying the following story:

“The Imperial Services Command Council are pleased to be able to announce that after negotiations and several weeks of preparation the GCS remnants on Earth, Sol System, have been persuaded to peacefully withdraw from the planet and system.
An orderly handover of Starbase Galactic Central on Earth is now in progress. The Imperial 5th Guards Armoured Brigade and the 15th Marine division have moved into the starbase to ensure security during the handover period.”
With several members of the GCS still being pursued for war crimes against humanity, it seems likely that this is not the last we shall hear of the GCS, though to where they have fled remains shrouded in mystery.

Pirate Bounty
AFT Press Release.

“It seems we have a pirate infestation in St.Dismas. I will be stepping up patrols, however, anyone interested in shooting womp rats or pirates is welcome to come hunting. To sweeten the pot I will pay 500 Stellars per hull of the PIR ship captured or destroyed in St.Dismas or systems within one jump. If hunting outside of St.Dismas be sure you have the property owners permission. One bad hunter makes the rest of us suffer.
Wishing everyone a trophy kill,
Cirdan”

Pirate Large
Starting the new year as he clearly intends to go on, Pirate Large is reporting the successful capture of a 150 hulled DEN vessel. And in frankly disturbing news, for once one of his jokes is actually fit to print.

Solo
Questions are being raised regarding who might institute a system claim for Solo, with the AFT raising the issue of whether or not they should continue with their claim. But with no other takers, it seems the AFT hold may continue, provided they can assemble enough troops to secure their flag.

AFT Press Release
It has been determined that a software glitch in the Blacbird's Nest production facility has introduced an error in the maintenance monitoring software on AFT Supercarriers produced in that facility. Specifically instead of flagging a critical exception when levels reached 30% it is flagging at -0%. I repeat that's a negative zero percent.
This has resulted in the breakup of two SuperCarriers and placed four more at risk. The problem is being corrected as this message is released. If you have an AFT Blackbird's Nest produced SuperCarrier please contact me for the patch. It is very simple and can easily be verified by a level 1 AI Programmer.
Over the next several months we will be validating all Starship and Starbase software, including all versions released in the past 10 years. If any errors are located notification will be immediate.

**Special Report**

A Childrens Guide To The Falconians.
Once upon a time in a land far away called Acropolis, in the hilltops of Falconia lived a noble race of a very proud bird people.
Now for many years these great birds, who wore no clothes for they needed none thanks to their beautiful, soft feathers lived happily and knew nothing of the great many different people who travelled the stars.
Then one day a great big metal bird came from a distant star called Sol and in it were these hairless apes who were only concerned with what was beneath the ground and something called "profit" which the Falconians could not understand and at first glance could not help but think these were very strange worms indeed and far too large for their beaks.
The humans, as they liked to call themselves, though became sick and died in the far reaches of Acropolis. The Falconians did not understand why this happened but the more curious amongst them were fascinated by the strange metal bird they saw and began thinking about how to build one themselves.
The mighty Sarek, who some thought was mad even then, gathered the more inquisitive birds and told them that he was in charge. With a few squawks and after a bit of ruffling of the feathers the other noble birds accepted that maybe Sarek had a point and let him call himself "Emperor". a term he had learned from the humans.
For a time all was good in Falconia and the noble birds who cared for such things reached out beyond the world they had always known and made their home amongst the worlds of Acropolis, occasionally popping back to talk with their kin who they grew more and more apart from. It was very sad.
Then the great birds of Falconia who had not heard back from the humans for some ten years finally worked out how to travel to other stars themselves in their own great metallic birds. What they saw made them sad. They saw terrifying creatures who looked like giant insects made of steel being crushed by the humans they had known before. They saw other creatures just as terrifying. All around them was war and destruction.
So the Falconians learned, and girls and boys, they learned the wrong lessons at times. They too thought it would be fun to fight and conquer and destroy. It was very sad indeed.
Time past, wars were fought and lost and the Falconians were soon prey not hunters. Their world became the property of the humans and Sarek left to a distant star where he still schemed and dreamt of the glory of Empire, the senile old fool!
Then another Falconian came who called himself Emperor and his name was Thoriqal. Now Thoriqal was not quite as mad as Sarek but he ruled with an iron claw. The noble birds accepted that after having the humans run their world for "profit" for so long they needed to follow Thoriqal and heed his beak.
So the Falconians grew strong again and reclaimed their world and all was good. Now Thoriqal was not a peaceful bird before you think he was just tough on the Falconians! No. Thoriqal fought wars against creatures of a monstrous size called the Krell and defeated them wholly over time, took their ruined world and claimed it in the name of Falconians. Not content with this Thoriqal was to lead the Falconians through a great wormhole... what's that you say? What's a wormhole?
Well imagine a big whirley storm thing in the middle of space which when you go into it whisks you to a distant part of the galaxy. That's a wormhole.
Now where was I? Oh yes. Thoriqal led the Falconians through the wormhole and conquered new lands in the name of his Empire. Now before you feel too sorry for those he conquered you should bear in mind they were ugly, mean spirited creatures who only knew war and conquest themselves and Thoriqal only took from them what they had took from others. And in the end it was alright because he gave the world he took to the nice cat people called the Felini who had been made slaves by the nasty creatures he had defeated.
Now it wasn't the life most Falconians had known for most of their history but it was a good life. One of glory and power and it was no longer possible for the humans to come to their world and claim what was not theirs.
But then something terrible happened. Thoriqal grew weary and left for the Great Hunt never to be heard of again.
The Falconians were left with no great leader and the other noble birds looked at all that Thoriqal had built and despaired. One by one the noble houses vanished back to the traditional life of hunting without minding too much what was going on Out There. And the Falconians were once again prey not predators.
More time passed and then a human came to the world of Falconia. This human was different to the others. He didn't want to cage the Falconians and show of their plumage or dig up their world for his own "profit" (whatever that meant). Well to be truthful he did and he would but shhh now let me continue...
What this human wanted to do was restore the dignity of the Falconians and put in practice the ideals he had learned from Earth history. Through sheer willpower he claimed the title of Emperor but only for a short time. Instead, he wanted to give the Falconians something he called "democracy" which to the Falconians seemed like a bunch of rooks squawking loudly and no one using their claws and beaks as had always been the way but who were they to argue? As long as he didn't spoil their fun hunting and making the great wooden toys that Falconians had always made and only took some of their geese to sell and left them otherwise alone they were happy enough to let him play his games. They even adjusted their beaks to call him "Consul" which he preferred to "Emperor" although they thought it meant the same.
Now the human, who we shall call Peacock, was lonely by himself in the great aeries made by Sarek and Thoriqal and worse still he faced lots of problems.
The first problem he faced was all those hungry Falconians who worked not in the great plains and forests like nature intended but in the aeries: building and thinking and training for war. So Peacock went to the Magpies and asked them, "Hey Magpie, I need you to go and steal what you can from the stars so I can feed the Falconians so they grow strong and powerful." And Magpie did as Peacock said because he saw his fancy feathers and knew he could not resist the sly old bird-man.
The next problem he faced was the Falconians were thought weak and prey to horrid creatures and greedy humans. So Peacock went to the Vultures and asked them, "Hey Vulture, I need you to come down from your cliffs and fight for me and make sure noone mistreats the Falconians ever again." And Vulture did as Peacock said because he was hungry for blood and could not wait to crush those who dared stand in his way.
The final problem he faced was the Falconians had lost all knowledge the great Thoriqal had spent so long learning and teaching to the Falconians in the time when they were left to frollic freely without a care. So Peacock went to the Owls and asked them, "Hey Owl, I need you to go to the furthest, most distant stars and learn what you can so we are never left stranded alone and unaware of the great galaxy around us." And Owl did as Peacock said because he was wise and curious about what lay beyond.
So it was, dear children, that the Falconians rose up again off their perches and joined the great orchestra of the stars and added their song to it. Magpie, stealing what he could to feed the young birds in Acropolis, Vulture picking the bones of their enemies and Owl learning all he could so the Falconians would never again be considered ignorant. And as for Peacock, he made a lot of noise and strutted around with his feathers showing.
And they all lived happily ever after.

THE END

**Message From The Editor**
Apologies again for the lateness of this edition, I’m still recovering from that extended illness, but slowly getting back up to speed.
Lots of news stories left over this week, but I’m running at a very long 9 pages now, so had better stop. There will be more catch-up stuff in next weeks edition.

RIP Accuse GTT Of Piracy!

The big news this week has come from the Rip News Network, which is carrying the following story:

“Three sources have brought certain information to our attention recently, although one of those is undeniably untrustworthy, and as such we publicly ask the GTT to prove they are not funding pirate activities within the peripheries.
We will be forwarding our data to the owners of the respective space where this disgraceful acts of betrayal took place and will assist them with following it up in whichever way they choose.
I personally hope that the corruption within the GTT is limited only to a few, or less, political positions and that they act quickly to prevent tarnish to their good name.”

There has been no official response yet from the GTT, though hopefully they will have an official statement for the press in time for next weeks edition.

Allegations regarding the GTT involvement in the assassination of their own Security Director, Lord Goth, have also surfaced again in the wake of the shocking RIP accusation. With more than a few rumours suggesting that the only way the Wolfpack could have killed Goth was if somebody within the GTT organisation provided detailed information on his location and security passcodes.
It is vaguely possible that this story is very old indeed, and we at the IGN newsroom only just checked the RIP website. However, not wanting to pass up the opportunity to make trouble for our colleagues at the RNN…

Children Of Hexos
The fallout from the COH’s decision to briefly join the Consortium, and then very rapidly leave continues, as the small Hive organisation faces increasing aggression from a seemingly hostile universe.
Details are still sparse as to the reasons, but it seems a GTT strike force attacked and destroyed several COH targets in retaliation for some strongly worded political exchanges.
However having demonstrated their will to respond in force, the conflict between the GTT and COH seems to have died down as quickly as it flared up.

SMS Victory!
Longterm readers may remember the running story of the SMS bombardment of the pirate outpost Wolfs Cove that began, oh, years ago now. After many many weeks of blasting rubble, it seems the SMS have finally managed to kill that last pirate who was hiding somewhere under a pile of metal slag.

We here at the IGN newsroom salute the SMS for this famous victory, which in terms of energy expended to damage inflicted, must surely rank as number one. Never, in the field of human conflict, has so much, been shot at so few, by so many, and missed so spectacularly.

Pirate Destroyed
The pirate vessel Ghost Of Titan has been destroyed by the SMS platform Trebuchet in orbit of Steropes.

This is the first pirate action in the Titan system in recent history, and has sparked speculation that there may be a major pirate operation planned against a Starbase within the system – rumours that have sparked alarm at several facilities.

Pirate Destroyed
The pirate vessel Ghost of Inferno CLT has been destroyed by the SMS platform Station Medusa in, yes, you guessed it, the Inferno system.

Speculation is mounting on what the purpose is of all of these ongoing suicide pirate scout attacks against fixed installations, as the information they gather is surely worthless. Beyond the fact that no, they are not welcome there.

Wolfpack
A Wolfpack scout ship has been spotted in the Storm system. All travellers are advised to travel with caution.

Debris Field
A debris field has been scanned in the Solo system, which contains some very interesting salvage, though as yet nobody has felt brave enough to pinch it from under the noses of the rightful owners.
It would be irresponsible of us to mention where and what it is.

The Lost Expedition
Unusually a number of communications have reached our news-room this week about the near-mythical ancient lost SMS Expedition that first explored the Peripheries many many years ago, and was since lost.
Various bits and pieces of wreckage of the expedition have been found over the years in various systems, but new information from several sources suggests that something new might have come to light recently, whispers are of some alien involvement.

Pirate Destroyed
The pirate vessel Ghost Of Skord has been destroyed by the OPS as it attempted to scout out a number of freighters, including a DTR vessel, in orbit of the planet Kindom. Fortunately OPS gunners were on hand to blast the pirate into atoms.

From The Jax Examiner
The Imperial news networks have been carrying the following story:

ARC Defeated And Base captured.
Full reports are now available of the battle fought against an ARC 400 HH ship. When it was first sighted the ships available to intercept were not equipped to take on such a formidable foe. However they were able to contain the enemy for several days, inflicting modest damage and taking heavy casualties. In the meantime a Battle Group of heavy ships with appropriate armament were being equipped and deployed.. The heavies arrived at the battle and the ARC aggressor was finally destroyed after another two days of battle. Some of the heavy reinforcements were also severely damaged or destroyed during this final phase of the battle. Current reports indicate that over forty Imperial warships were destroyed during the course of the six days of fighting. An attempt to deploy prototype anti-matter missiles on the last day of the battle in response to the ARC use of Plasmas, classified as nuclear weapons, failed due to technical difficulties. SAR efforts have resulted in the rescue of a high percentage of the crews that survived the destruction of their ships.

Whilst the space battle was in progress the Imperial 3rd Marine Division was able to slip by the combatants and attack an ARC Starbase, which fell to the 3rd after two days fighting. Marine casualties were relatively light with a high proportion of the incoming fire being directed at the division's hardware. The relatives of those KIA or MIA in both space and ground battles are currently being informed of the fates of their heroic loved ones.

RIP Voted Number 1 For Trustworthiness
While not attempting to start a war with the GTT over their piracy allegations, the RIP News Network has also taken the time to run the following story:

“While commenting on important matters pertaining to the Solo system and the AFT claim for running it the Foreign Minister for the Detinus Republic had the following to say about our great affiliation.
"I can think of no organisation more trustworthy than the RIP"

The current foreign minister for the DTR is Cassius Jerusalem, we hope that such a forward thinking individual remains in his position of power for a long time to come.

IND Destroyed
The IND vessel ‘Nose of Calypso 11’ has been destroyed by a DTR military platform inside a restricted zone in Detinus space.
With the Calypso character having announced her occupation as pirate recently, it seems fair to say that the reputation of Independants is about to take another serious hit.

Emperor Lysander
The erstwhile emperor of humanity, Lysander, has surfaced in Periphery politics again, after a long period of silence.
It is understood he is in the Fortress system as a guest of the Confederate noble House LiQuan, where he is supervising the construction of a palace suitable to host his coronation.
Our daring reporters have obtained the following information on just how luxurious this palace complex will be:

“To house the Emperor in the glory that is is fitting.
Each one takes a BP which is normally burnt and the following mats.
100 Rock Structural Module (430)
100 Structural Module (420)
20 Military Module (405)
10 Basic Module (410)
500 Precious Metals (25)
500 Precious Gems (26)
TM
While rich and luxuriant, a single palace complex would be considered little more than a guest house. On Earth, Jasil has more than 1000 of these complexes and it is said that his ballroom was closer to an indoor arena.

The coronation, as and when it occurs, is bound to be THE hot ticket social event of the decade. And we will be sure to cover more news as it breaks.

Pirate Destroyed
The pirate ship Eyes Of Large, a carny class spyship, has been intercepted and destroyed in the outer reaches of the Venice system by a DTR patrol.

Pirate Destroyed
A second vessel carrying the name ‘Eyes Of Large’ has been destroyed in the middle-reaches of the Venice system, again by a squadron of DTR system patrol vessels.

**Special Report**
Falconian Press release summarising recent events with regards the Children Of Hexos.

“The following is our perspective of recent events regarding the COH.
Whilst the Falconian Republic hopes the matter will be resolved
peacefully and without the personal animosity displayed in public
recently, the matter will be considered unresolved until such time as
the COH agree to the basic tenants of an immediate withdrawel from our
restricted space and the return of all outposts within our systems.

An overview of recents events with the COH:

208.46 :
i. The FET demanded from the COH their main starbase, Ves Ghorman on Tycoon.
ii. The FCN already in talks with various Hive affs on closer
cooperation, approached Emperor Hexos to offer him and his people
sanctuary in FCN protected space and a number of other measures were
in place to help them set up a new home.
iii. The Consortium which had previously discussed an application by
the COH to rejoin at this time gave the unanimous decision needed to
allow their membership.

208.47 :
i. The COH offer the FCN 4 blueprints for high mark items as a gift
and a start of closer research cooperation. This prompts a good
discussion on research cooperation between FCN, FEL and COH on a
number of matters. The FCN agree to research some stealth related
blueprints for the COH as facilities become available.
ii. The COH are given exploration data to Acropolis and Fury and
outposts are exchanged: The FCN give outposts in Storm, Fury and
Acropolis in exchange for similar outposts in Solo, Arachnid and
Skord.
iii. The COH are given access to Fury and full authorisation to five
major FCN starbases for purposes of building up their new home.
iv. The COH make a declaration of war on the FLZ and USN, they ally
with the FCN (reciporicated by the FCN) and offer their support in the
FLZ war.

208.48 :
i. FCN resume war with the FLZ. COH pledge support to fight the FLZ
although nothing is expected of them as they have a small number of
warships.
ii. A well known fool tries to frame the COH for acts of piracy
against the FET by failed boarding attempts in the Yank system. The
incompetent is quickly unmasked.
iii. The new GCE PD demands the COH return ores and other items
obtained "on the cheap" in some insider dealing. The COH are advised
to settle the matter and that the Consortium will provide necessary
supplies to do so. In the end, the FCN supplies some of the missing
Fibrillium but the rest the COH return themselves.

208.49:
i. Under the light of new evidence, the FET withdraw their claim on Ves Ghorman.
ii. The COH signal that they now see it as safe to remain in Tycoon
but will continue to build an industrial / shipyard base on Rage in
Fury.
iii. The COH offer soldiers and support in the FLZ war. Nothing
materialises but no issue is made of this by other Consortium members.
iv. The COH approach the FCN about increasing their naval power. The
FCN offer to build them or trade warships in service for material
costs (particularly hulls). They also offer to build COH design ships
if they provide them with blueprints. Talks continue but nothing comes
of it.

208.51:
i. The FCN discover a grave site on an asteroid in Acropolis and
publicly air their suspicions that 3 years ago the FLZ were
responsible for this event.
ii. The COH publicly defend the FLZ arguing that history should be
forgotten, perhaps as a defense against the many black marks on their
own history.
iii. The COH despite private communication to the contrary, declare
peace with the FLZ and all talk of providing aid and support in the
FLZ war disappears.

209.52:
i. The COH contact the FCN to say they have removed themselves from
the Consortium, will no longer seek to colonize Rage and feel the FLZ
have been victimised.
ii. The FCN attempt to clarify to them that particaption of the FLZ
war is not a condition of being part of the Consortium but as they
seem set on their path wish them well and only request an orderly
withdrawel from their systems, to swap back all outposts exchanged and
return the 4 blueprints given rather than research them stealth
related blueprints as promised.
iii. Within a day the FCN are contacted by two separate groups saying
that the COH have attempted to sell knowledge / access to Fury and are
attempting to align themselves to them, offering information learned
whilst in the Consortium.
iv. At this point relations between the FCN and COH turn very sour and
Praetor Nurgle is given the task of dealing with what the FCN feel to
be treachery on the part of the COH.

v. Christmas breaks out amongst humanity a public truce is declared and the public discourse comes to an end. For now at least.

‘Ahharrgghhhh me Hearties........... It be aye.............. Pirate Large.............

Anuvver day anuvver dollar, an me boys came up trumps when they located the GTT 100 hulled ship Food 1 (39943) in the Capellan system, one er me ole boardin ships be sent to do the job o takin her.

A GTT escort be right next to er, but it didnt even open fire, so i can only assume the cappan were either "asleep on the job", or if it were me "on the job" which i would consider a better excuse aye i would.

As yee can guess the cargo be only food aye, nothin o great value, uvver than the fact it were taken with a hyperdrive on board, anuvver one to fit on me boarders aye.

I is also ere to report the loss of one of me "sold" ships, i were on me way to what i thoughts were a system not heavily patrolled, when enroute me ship got stopped and destroyed by me ole mate from the SMS.

From Calypso’s Blog
Arrrr, we likes Calypso we do, she’s a girl after our ‘earts, and other bits, that we does understand she keeps pickled in jars like. Yo ho ho, and a bottle o’parts, as they says in her crews.

she done updated her blog, arrr, and we ‘as got the bits wot we fink is decent enough to print. Arrr. Seems the only lilly livered bunch of sss pukes wot didn’t run away from us was the legal department. And we ain’t touchin’ them, buncha nasty lawyers.

‘Calypso waited patiently, longing for news one way or another, she drained her glass, the mixture was warming though she could still smell its sharp, metallic odour. Her night had been restless and even the bar seemed empty now that the wimble had gone, the boys off in search of prey, but this was this news that she waited on, perhaps she would have something more to play with tonight, perhaps her hunger would be quenched.

The story of the wimble had actually been rather tragic, funny though it had been at the time, Calypso missed the little fellow, but it could not be helped, one of the crews, during a particularly raucous night, had taken to shooting glasses from between his ears as he was chained as ever to the bar area, it had only been a matter of time before one of them aimed a little low, and what remained after the first accidental shot was little more than charred remains, it would have to be either one of the three Falconians or the Mohache to replace him, for the boys were forever in need of entertainment when drinking.

The hidden console behind the bar clicked into life, the sensor arrays had picked up an position approaching, it was the Black Ship, and it came in alone, Calypso sighed, they had failed, within a mere matter of minutes the ship had descended and docked, the crew rolling out with long faces and drawn expressions, the fighting had clearly been fierce, based on the blood some still carried on their clothes, the aroma flared her nostrils, heightening her perceptions, but her hopes had been shot, her sprits dropped yet further at the outcome.

It seemed like only seconds later, though it had in fact been more than a hour when the Dream Ship triggered the same response on the console as she made good her orbit, but what followed her in gave Calypso’s spirit a lift, the Dream Ship was not alone. She had not seen this one before and her targeting systems responded, the missile silos locking the position, but the ship ran a pirates colours and her identification system registered it as a Tempest Class, the Sulaco, she had been taken.

With her heart pounding in her chest, Calypso opened a com channel, not willing to wait for the ship to make port and contacted Captain Bloodstone of the Dream Ship, the response filled her heart with joy, the ship which had up to recently been CIA, came with prisoners, though the captain raved on about the internal items, which included a Hyper Drive or some such item, but Calypso cared little, it had been her spotters that sighted it and Calypso wanted her blood price.

Both vessels descended and docked, the crew rushing to the bar to feast and drink to their success, but Calypso’s mind was elsewhere as she moved to the starport, leaving her team to take the orders at the bar, Captain Bloodstone smiled as his men led out the survivors, 167 Human Prisoners and their Captain Isaac Tinker, clearly terrified of their new found reality. Calypso snapped orders to her personal guards; the prisoners were to be taken to the jail, the captain to her personal chamber.

Isaac Tinker’s heart raced, as he took in the scene, the guards forced him into submission and secured his hands and feet onto what was little more than a stone table, around him the setting was terrifying, all manner of human stains were visible, some that he could not place, some that he knew all too well, there were chains, lashes and whips, in addition to cruel looking knifes and stakes, was this a torture chamber, like those he had read of in stories of old the barbaric origins of the human race, but his thoughts were interrupted as the women entered the room, sending the guards on their way and securing the doorway.

Isaac was mesmerised, she was beautiful and his hopes lifted, perhaps this has all been a mistake, then he fixed on her eyes, dark and yielding, she was captivating and he welcomed her embrace as she came towards him, she was enchanting a demon who would devour him, but Isaac was mistaken and his short lived joy turned to pain as she straddled him, the beating began, pain, then pleasure equally and expertly distributed, a smile, a moan, her tongue slipping over her teeth, Isaac screamed and everything went black.......................

Outside the guards joked and laughed as they listened, they knew all too well the night he would experience, the lucky ones had been through it themselves; he’d survive, just, and somewhere in amongst it all, he might just enjoy himself.’

Solo claim swings back and forth

The situation in Solo appears to be getting even more heated. First the NHS dropped 600,000 troops to contest the system and then the DTR answered with enough troops of their own to trump the NHS claim. The NHS found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim up to 750,000 and once again the DTR answered, bringing Solo back under DTR control. Now the NHS have had a look down the back of the sofa and found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim to a massive 900,000 trained troops. We wait to see if the DTR have an answer to this. We can only guess where all these troops are coming from, but what is clear is that the established affiliations clearly have far larger armies than many thought.

NHS attempt to claim Solo away from DTR

In a shock move the NHS have contested the Solo claim with a huge garrison of 600,000 trained troops. In a move that nobody saw coming, especially as it was unknown the NHS had such a large force of troops to draw upon, the NHS seem to be provoking a response from the DTR. Currently there has been no word from the DTR in how they are going to deal with this claim jumping, although rumours are that they are pretending the Solo claim doesn't really matter to them and so action is unlikely. However this may be a smokescreen and we may yet see the DTR's powerful fleet cause havoc in the system of Solo, which has for a long time been an important junction and fought over by many different factions.

DNA Chairman TonTon resigns

The following communication has been leaked from the DNA to the GTT's PD.

Greetings CEO Fox.
It regrets me to have to inform to you that the DNA nation state will be renouncing its claim on Aladdin system following a ceremony planet side, shortly.
However, it gives me great pleasure to have to inform you that these ceremonies are being planned by Vladimir Tavikovitch, the South Road Traffic Coordinator. He is also responsible for all DNA and .ore. assets in the Outer Naplian (Capellan) periphery so if there are any further issues, please take it up with him.
For any and all other matters, please forward your request directly to the DNA directorate services at NexusID: DNA people.
The Foreign Ministry objects one last time to your illegal claim jump of Aladdin, but we realise it is time to de-escalate.
Normally i would sign off with Naambta, but doing so would be hypocritical. Let me say good riddance instead.
I hereby resign in protest!

Chairman TonTon,
Foreign Minister, DNA
cc: Directorate Services personnel coordinator - !urgent resignation!

DTR threaten WMB with fines for multiple breaches of DTR Law

Lady Sylvansight of the DTR has issued a fine of 1,000,000 stellars to the Wimbles for multiple breaches of DTR Penal and Territorial Law. This seems a very brave move of the DTR to risk upsetting the huge and warlike WMB when they also have the rival NHS Solo system claim to deal with. No word has been recieved yet that the Wimbles are going to pay, but if the formidable WMB warfleet is seen heading for the DTR home systems we will know what their thought are on the matter. The DTR and WMB fleets going head to head would be a sight to behold.

DNA and GTT clash over Aladdin system claim while Pirates look on.

The GTT have this week launched an attack on the DNA outpost in Aladdin, in what appears to be little more than a turkey shoot. Around 100,000 GTT Naplian Startroopers attacked the DNA position to remove the rival system claim. Reports indicate the DNA garrison were taken by surprise and lost control of the base in the first few hours of the fighting. The base has since been reflagged from [Free Naplian Capital] Peaceful Protest to [Loyal Naplian Capital] DNA claim Ended so it's fair to say there was a clear message being sent by the GTT. We have been waiting for the DNA leadership to comment but so far they have been unusually silent. No doubt when they have crawled out from under their desks they will have something to say on the matter.

While this attack was going on several pirate ships were also seen in Aladdin, according to the GTT in what may be true or may be a diversion, with reports of a pirate GP and scout being destroyed while a 150HH pirate warship slipped away and escaped from incoming anti-pirate patrols.

Secret meeting of the EEM

A recent communication intercepted by one of our top reporters today made us aware of a meeting of the EEM. This is underway in a top secret location called Black Pool, which sounds suspiciously like the lair of a pirate band. After pulling in many favours, we were able to identify some of the attending members. On the bases that they won't be named we were able to find out some slight information of the subjects to be discussed at the meeting and one thing is for certain, there could be huge impacts to the lives of everybody living in the galaxy. Details to follow. When the shadowy figures of the EEM come together with the top political players in a pirate base the possibilities are endless!

You are never more than 6 systems from a RAT ðŸ€

A new saying has arisen in the bars and spaceport of starbases throughout the many peripheries; you are never more than 6 systems from a RAT.

It is understood that this saying originated in Yank and spread by trade vessels to peripheries far and wide. Many starbases have heightened their security and added additional sensors and locks to various entry points including foul and grey water outfalls. Beer and drug stocks are undergoing increased proofing to avoid the critters gaining entry and consuming the stockpiles.

Will this present as a new plague of proportions never before seen or is this some simple urban myth being spread for the amusement of some mischievous entity? Who knows, but to be certain... check the shadows.

This year we will again be returning to the Briardene Hotel. They were welcoming, the bar didn't run out of beer pre-covid and there was room for quiet chats. Along with Wetherspoons there is the Victoria just down the road (Sam Smiths - last time beer was around 2 shillings per pint and a full round was less than £10).

Mostly drinking beer and talking toot though we have a good few things on the agenda.

Bookings are done directly with the hotel. Book by phone and say that you are with KJC Games

Dog days are over

With the fall of the DEN and the implosion of their home territory as the AFT, DTR and GTT moved in, it was unlikely the Dewiek would rise again. The DWP gave the species a little hope with the Dewiek Pocket Periphery kept under lock and key. But news has reached us of the AFT's penetration of this private area of space that's been locked down. With a base and claim in one of the three visible systems it seems that the end of the Dewiek is near. A once noble and aggressive race, determined to make an impact on the galaxy is now little more than a species that lives under the command of others. A sad end to a once powerful species that used to control a significant part of known space.

Pirate activity continues

Yet more reports of pirate activity have been received, one from the WMB, losing a freighter in Solo and another from the FET who reported they had engaged and hit the attacking pirate ship with several weapons before it managed to make off with it's prize. Hopefully the pirate ship took significant damage and will now be out of action for some time. The Corewards periphery seems to have been plagued with pirates recently and many travellers would welcome a break from attacks.

MEK incursion into Corewards

The FET and GTT have mounted a joint venture into Nog-Kesri to tackle a MEK force. It isn't known where they have come from, with the only other MEK ships seen so far being located in the Orion Spur. The lack of a known link between where they have appeared in Corewards and the Orion Spur has caused some concern among planetary populations as who knows where they could turn up next! Fortunately the combined FET/GTT task force dealt the MEK a heavy blow and the threat has been eradicated. But we all know this is unlikely to be the last we hear of the MEK in Corwards and we would encourage ship captains to keep a keen eye on thier sensor screens when travelling near Nog-Kesri.

    Aladdin faces ongoing DNA/GTT tension

The tensions between the DNA and GTT in the Coptuv system recently spilled over into the DNA system of Aladdin. A significant party of GTT ground troops has reinforced one of their bases in the system and claimed it, forcing the system claim into turmoil as the DNA finds itself under threat of losing the system. With the DNA chairman asking for help, several affiliations have been seen sending ships to evacuate any in the local population that want to escape the GTT. But so far not a shot has been fired and despite the AFT, FEL and DTR assistance no reisistance to the claim jump has been encountered so far. It remains to be seen if the DNA and it's friends will scatter before this hostile take over or put in a last minute counter claim to thwart GTT intentions.

    Increasing pirate activity

Recent reports indicate a new surge in pirate attacks with the AFT and GTT reporting ships lost. Knowing how some don't like to advertise losses we wouldn't be surprised if this is the tip of the iceberg. Reports passed to us show the ship PIR Scavenger running ID 43174 and another ship of the same name running ID 68668 have both been in action with successful boarding attempts. It's unknown whether these are seperate ships or the same ship reregistered, but our information suggests that it would be hard for these pirates to cover the space where these attacks happened with just one ship. One thing is for sure, be on your guard as open space is not as safe as it once was.

GCE ships loitering in deep space

After the fall of the GCE and a lot of their assets being shared or purchased it was thought that the affiliation was no more. Yet deep space scans indicate that there is still a significant number of GCE warships holding station in deep space between Coptuv and Yank on the transport route into the Corwards Arm. Nobody knows what these ships are up to and why they are still flagged GCE, but our best guess is that are captains either awaiting new orders or owners after the fall of the GCE command structure.

    Tension in the Corewards Arm

With the DNA obtaining several ex-GCE bases in the Coreward Arm it has found itself in the middle of an asset grab of serious proportions and aggression. Our reporters witnessed several GTT troop carriers heading for the Corewards system as the DNA published information suggesting they were accidental owners of the system and that the assets were to be moved on. As the GTT ships started to arrive the bases were quickly passed to the CIA, thus thwarting the GTT intentions as they were hardly likely to start dropping troops on their allies bases. This shrew move by the DNA seems to have calmed matters in the Coreward arm temporarily, although the shift in relations between the GTT and DNA has taken a negative turn. When asked what their next move might be the GTT refused to comment.

    GCE collapse

The GCE are no more, save for some scattered light freighters. The affiliation which enjoyed a sharp rise and profiltable relations with many has ceased trading. Rumors point to the GTT buying up GCE assets before stripping the rival corporation of anything of value. Although our reporters at the SSS have been quick to point out that any GCE assets not in GTT systems have been taken over by both the DNA and FET. So it seems many different affiliations were able to profit from this development including a new group called the HSH who appear to have taken over the GCE war fleet. No doubt many in the peripheries will be watching with interest where these ships are used, who the HSH are and how they were able to get thier hands on so many warships so quickly.

    Secudus trials

In the Cluster Secudus has continued his trials, claiming to root out terrorists working against the Empire. With tends of thousands of beings being sent to the camps or worse. There is no sign of these actions stopping as the NHS clamp down on the locals and bring them under the harsh control of the Empire.

    Persistent Browser-Based Game (PBBG)

I’ve played on and off for approximately 10 years, over a 20 year spell. After some interesting debate on the in-game forum, I did wonder what, exactly, has kept drawing me back to the game, when for so many others I’ve generally lost interest after a few months.

Ultimately, I think it is a combination of automation (that allows the game to handle thousands of positions to interact on a daily basis) coupled with Special Actions (that allow the story arc to develop in a way that could not be catered for by a set of predefined list of available orders).
