Birth Of The Falconian Republic
The new leader of the Republic, Darius Shirazi, has appeared on Falconian news services giving the following statement, “By the decree of the Emperor I declare the name of the affiliation to be the Falconian Republic henceforth. I will organise the outcast affiliation politicals and the running of our bases on Republican principles not seen since the days of ancient Rome.”
The last Emperor has thus stepped down and a new enlightened era is announced for the affiliation as a Republic. This should give greater stability to the faction and dictates by power hungry Emperors will be a thing of the past.

Pirate Destroyed
A small pirate scout vessel nosing around the Venice system has been destroyed whilst attempting to enter orbit of Cyprus.

Falconian Press Release – War Declared!
“Despite repeated efforts to establish peaceful diplomatic relations with the Ulian Stellar Nation (34) the attack on our peaceful, unarmed research outpost has left us with no choice but to declare war. The Falconians will not rest until the Ulian people know freedom and peace.
Travellers are warned Ulian is a restricted system and any vessels not flagged FCN will be treated as hostile.”

Navigational Accident
Reports are reaching our newsroom that a patrol of Detinus Republic warships has run into difficulty.
In this case ‘difficulty’ being a bloody big asteroid.
Early reports indicate that as many as three main-line warships have been destroyed, though details of the incident are heavily classified, sparking speculation about how their captains couldn’t see an asteroid coming, and whether or not it wasn’t an asteroid they were attempting to intercept at all, but perhaps some sort of super railgun munition that had been fired by the ARC.

Scout Destroyed
An SMS Scouting party has been intercepted and destroyed by the Flagritz empire. It is thought the FLZ were able to triangulate on an unguarded transmission by the single Falconian crewmember that made up the scouting group.

Imperial Press Release
The KRT currently enjoy Transit and Trade privileges in and through systems claimed by and for the Imperial Services.
Two exploration ships, designated as scouts but I am keeping this message polite, have been spotted in Outer Capellan periphery systems during the last week or so. In the interests of retaining their current privileges in our systems the KRT are requested to remove these ships forthwith.
Exploration privileges in our systems have been withdrawn from all individuals and affiliations except the Chartered affiliations and Imperial Services for some time now, and they are unlikely to be re-issued.
There is full coverage of this subject in Imperial Law, Section 2, and I suggest that the KRT hierarchy re-acquaint themselves with this. A full copy of Imperial Law is available in the public domain at:-

Goth Resigns
The newly appointed GTT security director, the heir to the recently deceased Lord Goth, has resigned his post within the GTT for reasons as yet unknown.
With mounting pressure from the Wolfpack Mercs, it is thought that Goth may have left the organisation in order to try and take some of the heat off.

Pirate Large
There have been two successes for Pirate Large this week, a CIA freighter and a DTR Caravel.
As a sidenote it is understood that the captain of the DTR Freighter was Peter ‘Plucker’ Daniels, whom long-time readers may remember was the DTR entrant into the Turkey Plucking Contest at the inaugural Mohache Games several years ago.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Plucker Pete.
Pirate Large has reported on these incidents in his own inimitable way:

“Ahharrgghhhh me hearties……………….
It be aye…………….
Pirate Large……………

Well me boys as been in business agen this ere week aye, after we spotted a CIA ship Last Caress (60117)in the Yank system.
Me boys moved into the area keeping an eye outs as usual an rushed alongside her ready to board.
50 Normal hulled ship she be, no match for thee…
26 crewman on board aye, a small contingent of em be vet marines, but me boys wen berserk an killed em all except 1, an by eck did she gets some action that night, all though in all fairness, so did some o the others aye, dirty beggars be on board my ship aye thar be.
Anyways another ship be a taken, wiv cargo onboard as well, which we got out and clear.
Garrr..... to cheer me self up I wen to a recent game of rugby aye, a big game it be, an I got 2 great seats on the try line of the final, however my other seat be empty aye.
This ere guy sittin next to me says “I am puzzled mate, a great seat like that, whys it empty”
Well I says to him, “these ere seats were a gift I won from the Jiggly room in a game of thwack your meat garr, 2 seats to this ere final for me an me girlfriend/wife, only she took one broadside in a boarding action aye she did like an died.
The guy sitting next to me gives me his apologies but he still cant get over the fact that the seat is empty, so he asks
“couldn’t you find anyone else to take this great seat at the try line at the final?? A friend or a relative??”
I smiled back at him an said “ No mate, they’re all at the funeral”

Ahharrgghhh me hearties…………
It be aye…………
Pirate Large………….

Garr, it be busy at the moments aye, me boys as been polishin their nobs like thar be out a fashion aye they be, as we spotted this ere DTR 75 light huller off thee starboard quarter.
Weapon n cutlass be ready an me boys lined up again the DTR ship Final Transaction (91228)
In the Acopolis system.
We forced our way inte the hulls o the ship an started to attack the marines who were defendin this ere ship.
A fair ship she be not a match fer thee…….
75% o the defenders be slaughtered in the attack, a few prisners be a taken aye an the ship be mine.
It as an unusual cargo on board this ere one, an fer a group that be at peace wiv everyones it be strange to see the cargo oldin GPs aye.

| 1 DTR GROUND PARTY Detinus 3rd Scouts (55184) - 350 mus 350 |
| 1 DTR GROUND PARTY Detinus 4th Scouts (58587) - 280 mus 280

Now this ere DTR may say aye, that they be pickin them up, but don you finds it funny that they be following numerically?? So are they pickin them up in the reverse order they dropped em off, or do yee reckons they is doin the dirty on them thar IMPs/GTT lot.
They be ready to join us ere pirates if they is, underhanded beggars.
Anyways I couldn take the risk that they gives away any info, so out the airlock the lot went. The ship be nice havin a hyperdrive on board as well, also unusual for a measley 75 huller aye.
Anyways a good day was ad……..

BREAKIN NEWS………..
Pirate Large investments hits the brown stuff as bank of Iceshave goes tits up, if only I invested me money wiv that Angela Merkel bird, she says one thing, goes home and screws everyone she just met, now that be the bird to old my loot aye.
Breakin News……….
It be reported me boys as been in action today, sounds like bad news fer one of me ships..more to follow
any ways im sure you will hear more from the Glorious Adventures of the
pirate ship Large(and friends).............aahaaarrgh

Wolfpack
With recent developments indicating that the Wolfpack mercenaries have now re-branded themselves as a pirate organisation, it seems nobody is now safe from their depredations. Particularly if they are flying GTT flags.
The Wolfpack are reporting two victories this week:
“I think the GTT need a new security director. GTT freighter taken from under the nose of 3 escorts and not a shot fired!

**Special Report – Ulian Stellar Nation**
A contact within the new Falconian government has been kind enough to provide IGN reporters with some further background information on the Ulians, and how this war appears to have started:

Report on First Contact by Falconians:
Having been instantly attacked during a survey of the system, the captain decides that remote contact is preferential to meeting the aliens face to face. Using a number of remote drones as relays in order to prevent the signal being traced back to this location a first contact communiqué is sent to the platforms.
The response is somewhat awkward. The Ulian Stellar Nation (34) considers the Falconians to be invaders and to have committed the first hostile act. They advise the captain that all planets in this system are the sovereign property of the Nation and any attempt to deploy or collect resources will be countered with extreme prejudice.
They also point out that they have launched scouts searching for the fleet and once found they will send their fleet to engage.

Report on attempt to open Contact with Ulain Stellar Nation from Fury:
The Falconians initiate contact with the Ulian Nation from the Fury system. Initially there is no reply, then the same belligerent spokesperson for the Ulians responds. "So near instantaneous interstellar travel is possible. The Ulian Stellar Nation is therefore prepared to end its war with the Falconian Empire under the following conditions; first and foremost, navigational charts to the nearest system to Ulian are to be transferred to the Ulian Stellar Nation.
Secondly, devices that allow this travel are to be handed over the Ulian Stellar Nation and finally, this nearest system is to be evacuated by the Falconian Empire. Only once this is completed will the Ulian Stellar Nation consider the Falconian Empire a possible candidate for trade."

Declassified report on USN Communications
While military communications are shielded and/or encrypted, some low level and civilian transmissions are easy to pick up and decode. These reveal a society that has been at war for centuries. This has pervaded society down to the most basic level. The planetary environments have been corrupted through the use of chemicals and weapons, the people are aggressive and paranoid and the government has a tight grip on virtually all aspects of life. Troublemakers are executed on live broadcasts - this is providing that they are not stoned to death by the masses before they are arrested. There are even death tallies for each day, which ensures that overcrowding is kept in check. The regime will happily exterminate a few thousand people in order to get one troublemaker. Currently the hot topic appears to be invaders from outer space. The Regime has stated that it is dedicated its research to conquering this new territory for the people.

Nuclear Weapons Deployed

Reports have reached our newsroom that the FLZ vessel CF-DOMINATOR 3, a Dominator Class Capital Ship has launched nuclear missiles.
SMS/FEL vessels spotted the Dominator 3 in the Vanus system who scanned it and were alarmed to discover the ship was carrying nuclear weapons and launch facilities, as well as a small number of Felini slaves.
An attempt was then made by the FEL to board the vessel, which resulted in a flurry of defensive fire that included several launched nuclear missiles, leading to the destruction of the attacking FEL boarder.

DTR Endorse New FCN Government
The DTR have released the following statement to the press:
“The Detinus Republic is happy to welcome to office our friend Darius Shirazi of the Falconian Republic.
The DTR are proud to see new races and peoples embracing the principles of the democratic republic, and the freedoms that the DTR hold dear, and we consider this a great step forward for the Falconian people under the brave and visionary leadership of Consul Shirazi.
The Detinus Republic is invested in protecting democracy throughout the Peripheries, and we are prepared to protect any emerging democracies in the face of unprovoked attacks.
Freedom will always prosper.

Pirate Scouts
A pirate ground party has been destroyed whilst attempting to scout the Felini Starbase Montahps Mission in the Inferno system.
Another pirate ground party was similarly destroyed whilst attacking the SMS Starbase of Rockall, also in Inferno.

FET Security Director wins 100,000 stellar bet against FET CEO
In the FET boardroom there was a debate, regarding warship designs.
Both the CEO Zuvoro Norozov and the Security Director Mike Storm had clear differences of opinion on the way forward.
As the FET CEO was intent on trying to control the Security Director's choices a live-fire exercise was planned. The Security Director refused to back down.
Using identical technology, two ships were built and staffed with new officers, to minimise the effect of any particular officer's skills.
Both ships were moved to an asteroid orbit, where the contest could take place away from prying eyes. 100,000 stellars was bet on the result, so sure were both FET members on their design.
Both ships looked evenly matched. Then the shooting started...
After four rounds the CEO's ship had taken just over twice as much damage as the Security Director's ship.

USN News
A number of rumours have reached our news-room regarding the activities of USN raiders which have allegedly on 3 occasions boarded and captured 3 100 heavy hulled FCN warships: USN SHIP TS CARTOGRAPHER 1 (XXXX) - {100 Heavy Hulls} , USN SHIP TS EXPLORER 1 (XXXXX) - {100 Heavy Hulls} , and USN SHIP PRIZE OF WAR (XXXXX) - {100 Heavy Hulls} ... all within the Ulian system.
USN forces are also alleged to have located and attacked a hidden FCN space station conducting system research.

GTT Ship Giveaway
Heralding the age of friendship, the GTT have been giving away some of their cutting edge warships to the DTR.
Admittedly the giveaway was rapidly followed by an ‘Oops can we have our ship back please?’ message. Though it is understood the DTR were happy to oblige, pausing only to rename the vessel ‘Viva Detinus’ before parking it back at GTT fleet headquarters.

Garcia Enterprises Press Release
(Message From The Editor: This might have been run already, I just found it in my personal messages, and couldn’t remember if it had been sent out already. But I shall send it again just in case.)
Garcia Enterprises, CEO Jose Garcia convened at a disclosed location earlier this week to discuss closing Wastelands and the Winter System to any more colonization, exploration, and outposting. The board of directors voted unanimously to the idea of shutting down all new colonization and outposting saying " all affiliations currently in Wastelands and Winter have two weeks to submit their outpost and Starbase locations to Garcia's Offices. Any information obtained will be held in a secure location and will not be released to anyone. Failure to comply with the newly established laws could result in those assets being fined or worst, confiscated."
With the recent pirate activity in Wastelands Executive Red Dorne has restricted Starbases, Outposts, and Ground Parties from landing on Kalahari. Affiliations that are already present in these systems will not be allowed to colonize the system any further without first contacting Garcia's office. Garcia's offices quoted further saying " affiliations that have assets in Wastelands and Winter will be allowed to stay as long as they follow up with our offices. Furthermore they will also have to contact our offices prior to setting down new assets, and affiliations have until next Friday to submit their data to our offices before fines begin to be imposed, we are truly sorry for inconvenience that may be caused by these measures. But it is the only way to keep our assets protected". IND ships are required to submit identification information before entering GCE claimed territories. Failure to do so will result in immediate boarding and confiscation of all vessels apprehended without compensation.

Pirate Attack
A COH outpost in Adamski has reportedly been captured and destroyed by an as yet unknown pirate group.

Wolfpack
The Wolfpack pirates are reporting more success:
“One of my scouts was passing through and spotted this little IMP sensor ship. Solo class ships are always popular on the second hand market, so one of the Wolfpack boarding ships went in to take it. The defenders gave in quickly and the ship was safely moved out the following day.

The Wolfpack are also understood to have captured an IMP Caravel, and a very old and famous SMS exploration vessel.

Retirement
The DEN VPD Se7en has announced his retirement from public office.

Pirate Destroyed
Following Pirate Larges successful capture of a DTR caravel in the Acropolis system last week, the DTR System Patrol Squadrons gained some measure of revenge by hunting down and destroying the Pirate ship Ears Of Large, which was almost certainly responsible for spotting the DTR Caravel.
A FCN patrol squadron co-ordinated with the operation that saw the small pirate vessel destroyed in short order.

Pirate Destroyed
The DTR System Patrol Squadrons had further success this week, hunting down and destroying a small pirate Carny class scout in the outer reaches of the Acropolis system. It is understood the DTR warships were on their way home following the destruction of the Ears Of Large, when they ran into a second pirate vessel.

Narrow Escape
The pirate ship Ghost Of Arachnid, operated by the Wolfpack, had a close call this week when it had a run in with a patrol of DTR warships. Despite managing to lock on with several tractor beams, the DTR patrol lost contact with the pirate in the outer reaches of the Arachnid system.

Pirates In Adamski

An as yet unknown pirate group has launched a series of daring attacks in the Adamski system this week, capturing a couple of COH facilities, and an AFT outpost.
The pirates numbers are understood to run into the several thousands, and they are well supported by assault tanks.

Wolfpack
The Wolfpack pirates have captured an Imperial patrol vessel in the Fortoon System.
The vessel is understood to have been on-station for years, before the Wolfpack pirates discovered and captured it. The Wolfpack then went on to taunt the Imperial Viceroy about what a difference it made for a pirate to be capturing Imperial ships for a change, after having had Pirate Large in their pocket for so long.

More Wolfpack Success
Another busy day for the Wolfpack pirates, as we were going to press they made the following transmission:
”First, an IMP scout taken as a starter.....

Defender lost 22.98% control [13.55%]
64.62% chance of losing control

IMP Rock Hunter II (98260) has fallen to the attackers.

The IMP viceroy didn't miss the chance to mention how the ship he lost had been waiting around for ages, but that only highlighted the fact that he never really had to worry about pirates when they were working for him.”
The capture of an escorted 100HH warship comes as a shock, as questions begin to be asked about just how safe any vessel might be from boarding…

Wolfpack Again
Another reported success for the Wolfpack, as they rapidly challenge Large for the crown of most successful pirate…
“Word came in from one of my scouts. The FET had left an ore freighter exposed close to Mobile Bay in Yank. I was a bit dubious, seeing as it was in Gamma 13. But a Wolfpack boarding ship went in and took it with little difficulty.
Another Deep Explorer to add to the collection.
Once we got the ship clear the cargo was inspected. Not too bad, 6500mu of thorlium. An easy cargo to shift.

News That Isn’t About Pirates
Strange energy flashes are continuing to be observed emanating from the Gas Giant Brass in the Aladdin system, with travellers and traders around the starbases of FET New Hope, AFT Qnase and IND Amity all reporting an increasing sense of unease.
There are rumours that a number of mysterious and unknown transmissions have also been picked up. With speculation mounting that an ARC strike fleet might be gathering somewhere beyond the darkest reaches of the systems outer orbital quadrants.

Failure to register might result in horrible burn-ey death.

News From Earth
Details are sketchy, but reports indicate that running battles have broken out across the South China conurbation zone. Rumours of paramilitary with advanced weaponry and backing are seeking to destabilise the region.
Many of the weapons being used in the fighting appear to be of Periphery design and manufacture.

Vanus System
The Felini Tyranny have been kind enough to release some additional information to the media regarding the Vanus system:
Special Action/Vanus/System Scan
A scan of various spectra and emissions reveals that the planet Palus has a significant non-Flagritz population although they appear to be using Flagritz technology. Even a short examination of their commercial civilian transmissions indicates that they are hostile to the Flagritz and various other caricatures that could be the Felini and other aliens never encountered before.
Apart from this the system appears to be unpopulated and no other anomalies are detected.
Special Action/Vanus/System Scan/Felini Caricatures
After studies of the parodies and thrillers that the natives of Palus broadcast as entertainment for the civilian masses, it becomes clear that they hold the Felini in the same light as the Flagritz.
From interception of historical programs, shortly after the Flagritz Empire collapsed a series of pogroms and later ethnic cleansing occurred during which all non-native species were eradicated in truly barbaric fashions.
The purges were even expanded to include sympathisers though it is claimed that there were very few of these and they were deemed to be mutants or spies for the off-worlders.
There are estimates of more than ten million aliens were exterminated in the 'Great Liberation'. The last of the fires, in which more than eight thousand were torched, occurred only three years ago. This has become
something of an international holiday.
Hence our boarding attempt to try to find out what they were up to.

Complaint
The Office Of The Editor has received a complaint from a member of the QNG regarding our reporting of the Flagritz use of nuclear weapons in last weeks edition.
We have been asked to point out that the Vanus system is FLZ space, and there is no law regarding the use or mis-use of nuclear weapons, and that the FLZ technically didn’t break any law or treaty.
When asked to comment on the Flagritz use of slaves onboard their vessels, the QNG complainant made no comment.
We would like to offer an apology to all slavery loving weapons of mass destruction using evil alien overlords. Please don’t nuke us and enslave our children.
Nuke the RIP instead.
We hear they enjoy it.
The Editor.

Solo claim swings back and forth

The situation in Solo appears to be getting even more heated. First the NHS dropped 600,000 troops to contest the system and then the DTR answered with enough troops of their own to trump the NHS claim. The NHS found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim up to 750,000 and once again the DTR answered, bringing Solo back under DTR control. Now the NHS have had a look down the back of the sofa and found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim to a massive 900,000 trained troops. We wait to see if the DTR have an answer to this. We can only guess where all these troops are coming from, but what is clear is that the established affiliations clearly have far larger armies than many thought.

NHS attempt to claim Solo away from DTR

In a shock move the NHS have contested the Solo claim with a huge garrison of 600,000 trained troops. In a move that nobody saw coming, especially as it was unknown the NHS had such a large force of troops to draw upon, the NHS seem to be provoking a response from the DTR. Currently there has been no word from the DTR in how they are going to deal with this claim jumping, although rumours are that they are pretending the Solo claim doesn't really matter to them and so action is unlikely. However this may be a smokescreen and we may yet see the DTR's powerful fleet cause havoc in the system of Solo, which has for a long time been an important junction and fought over by many different factions.

DNA Chairman TonTon resigns

The following communication has been leaked from the DNA to the GTT's PD.

Greetings CEO Fox.
It regrets me to have to inform to you that the DNA nation state will be renouncing its claim on Aladdin system following a ceremony planet side, shortly.
However, it gives me great pleasure to have to inform you that these ceremonies are being planned by Vladimir Tavikovitch, the South Road Traffic Coordinator. He is also responsible for all DNA and .ore. assets in the Outer Naplian (Capellan) periphery so if there are any further issues, please take it up with him.
For any and all other matters, please forward your request directly to the DNA directorate services at NexusID: DNA people.
The Foreign Ministry objects one last time to your illegal claim jump of Aladdin, but we realise it is time to de-escalate.
Normally i would sign off with Naambta, but doing so would be hypocritical. Let me say good riddance instead.
I hereby resign in protest!

Chairman TonTon,
Foreign Minister, DNA
cc: Directorate Services personnel coordinator - !urgent resignation!

DTR threaten WMB with fines for multiple breaches of DTR Law

Lady Sylvansight of the DTR has issued a fine of 1,000,000 stellars to the Wimbles for multiple breaches of DTR Penal and Territorial Law. This seems a very brave move of the DTR to risk upsetting the huge and warlike WMB when they also have the rival NHS Solo system claim to deal with. No word has been recieved yet that the Wimbles are going to pay, but if the formidable WMB warfleet is seen heading for the DTR home systems we will know what their thought are on the matter. The DTR and WMB fleets going head to head would be a sight to behold.

DNA and GTT clash over Aladdin system claim while Pirates look on.

The GTT have this week launched an attack on the DNA outpost in Aladdin, in what appears to be little more than a turkey shoot. Around 100,000 GTT Naplian Startroopers attacked the DNA position to remove the rival system claim. Reports indicate the DNA garrison were taken by surprise and lost control of the base in the first few hours of the fighting. The base has since been reflagged from [Free Naplian Capital] Peaceful Protest to [Loyal Naplian Capital] DNA claim Ended so it's fair to say there was a clear message being sent by the GTT. We have been waiting for the DNA leadership to comment but so far they have been unusually silent. No doubt when they have crawled out from under their desks they will have something to say on the matter.

While this attack was going on several pirate ships were also seen in Aladdin, according to the GTT in what may be true or may be a diversion, with reports of a pirate GP and scout being destroyed while a 150HH pirate warship slipped away and escaped from incoming anti-pirate patrols.

Secret meeting of the EEM

A recent communication intercepted by one of our top reporters today made us aware of a meeting of the EEM. This is underway in a top secret location called Black Pool, which sounds suspiciously like the lair of a pirate band. After pulling in many favours, we were able to identify some of the attending members. On the bases that they won't be named we were able to find out some slight information of the subjects to be discussed at the meeting and one thing is for certain, there could be huge impacts to the lives of everybody living in the galaxy. Details to follow. When the shadowy figures of the EEM come together with the top political players in a pirate base the possibilities are endless!

You are never more than 6 systems from a RAT ðŸ€

A new saying has arisen in the bars and spaceport of starbases throughout the many peripheries; you are never more than 6 systems from a RAT.

It is understood that this saying originated in Yank and spread by trade vessels to peripheries far and wide. Many starbases have heightened their security and added additional sensors and locks to various entry points including foul and grey water outfalls. Beer and drug stocks are undergoing increased proofing to avoid the critters gaining entry and consuming the stockpiles.

Will this present as a new plague of proportions never before seen or is this some simple urban myth being spread for the amusement of some mischievous entity? Who knows, but to be certain... check the shadows.

This year we will again be returning to the Briardene Hotel. They were welcoming, the bar didn't run out of beer pre-covid and there was room for quiet chats. Along with Wetherspoons there is the Victoria just down the road (Sam Smiths - last time beer was around 2 shillings per pint and a full round was less than £10).

Mostly drinking beer and talking toot though we have a good few things on the agenda.

Bookings are done directly with the hotel. Book by phone and say that you are with KJC Games

Dog days are over

With the fall of the DEN and the implosion of their home territory as the AFT, DTR and GTT moved in, it was unlikely the Dewiek would rise again. The DWP gave the species a little hope with the Dewiek Pocket Periphery kept under lock and key. But news has reached us of the AFT's penetration of this private area of space that's been locked down. With a base and claim in one of the three visible systems it seems that the end of the Dewiek is near. A once noble and aggressive race, determined to make an impact on the galaxy is now little more than a species that lives under the command of others. A sad end to a once powerful species that used to control a significant part of known space.

Pirate activity continues

Yet more reports of pirate activity have been received, one from the WMB, losing a freighter in Solo and another from the FET who reported they had engaged and hit the attacking pirate ship with several weapons before it managed to make off with it's prize. Hopefully the pirate ship took significant damage and will now be out of action for some time. The Corewards periphery seems to have been plagued with pirates recently and many travellers would welcome a break from attacks.

MEK incursion into Corewards

The FET and GTT have mounted a joint venture into Nog-Kesri to tackle a MEK force. It isn't known where they have come from, with the only other MEK ships seen so far being located in the Orion Spur. The lack of a known link between where they have appeared in Corewards and the Orion Spur has caused some concern among planetary populations as who knows where they could turn up next! Fortunately the combined FET/GTT task force dealt the MEK a heavy blow and the threat has been eradicated. But we all know this is unlikely to be the last we hear of the MEK in Corwards and we would encourage ship captains to keep a keen eye on thier sensor screens when travelling near Nog-Kesri.

    Aladdin faces ongoing DNA/GTT tension

The tensions between the DNA and GTT in the Coptuv system recently spilled over into the DNA system of Aladdin. A significant party of GTT ground troops has reinforced one of their bases in the system and claimed it, forcing the system claim into turmoil as the DNA finds itself under threat of losing the system. With the DNA chairman asking for help, several affiliations have been seen sending ships to evacuate any in the local population that want to escape the GTT. But so far not a shot has been fired and despite the AFT, FEL and DTR assistance no reisistance to the claim jump has been encountered so far. It remains to be seen if the DNA and it's friends will scatter before this hostile take over or put in a last minute counter claim to thwart GTT intentions.

    Increasing pirate activity

Recent reports indicate a new surge in pirate attacks with the AFT and GTT reporting ships lost. Knowing how some don't like to advertise losses we wouldn't be surprised if this is the tip of the iceberg. Reports passed to us show the ship PIR Scavenger running ID 43174 and another ship of the same name running ID 68668 have both been in action with successful boarding attempts. It's unknown whether these are seperate ships or the same ship reregistered, but our information suggests that it would be hard for these pirates to cover the space where these attacks happened with just one ship. One thing is for sure, be on your guard as open space is not as safe as it once was.

GCE ships loitering in deep space

After the fall of the GCE and a lot of their assets being shared or purchased it was thought that the affiliation was no more. Yet deep space scans indicate that there is still a significant number of GCE warships holding station in deep space between Coptuv and Yank on the transport route into the Corwards Arm. Nobody knows what these ships are up to and why they are still flagged GCE, but our best guess is that are captains either awaiting new orders or owners after the fall of the GCE command structure.

    Tension in the Corewards Arm

With the DNA obtaining several ex-GCE bases in the Coreward Arm it has found itself in the middle of an asset grab of serious proportions and aggression. Our reporters witnessed several GTT troop carriers heading for the Corewards system as the DNA published information suggesting they were accidental owners of the system and that the assets were to be moved on. As the GTT ships started to arrive the bases were quickly passed to the CIA, thus thwarting the GTT intentions as they were hardly likely to start dropping troops on their allies bases. This shrew move by the DNA seems to have calmed matters in the Coreward arm temporarily, although the shift in relations between the GTT and DNA has taken a negative turn. When asked what their next move might be the GTT refused to comment.

    GCE collapse

The GCE are no more, save for some scattered light freighters. The affiliation which enjoyed a sharp rise and profiltable relations with many has ceased trading. Rumors point to the GTT buying up GCE assets before stripping the rival corporation of anything of value. Although our reporters at the SSS have been quick to point out that any GCE assets not in GTT systems have been taken over by both the DNA and FET. So it seems many different affiliations were able to profit from this development including a new group called the HSH who appear to have taken over the GCE war fleet. No doubt many in the peripheries will be watching with interest where these ships are used, who the HSH are and how they were able to get thier hands on so many warships so quickly.

    Secudus trials

In the Cluster Secudus has continued his trials, claiming to root out terrorists working against the Empire. With tends of thousands of beings being sent to the camps or worse. There is no sign of these actions stopping as the NHS clamp down on the locals and bring them under the harsh control of the Empire.

I’ve played on and off for approximately 10 years, over a 20 year spell. After some interesting debate on the in-game forum, I did wonder what, exactly, has kept drawing me back to the game, when for so many others I’ve generally lost interest after a few months.

Ultimately, I think it is a combination of automation (that allows the game to handle thousands of positions to interact on a daily basis) coupled with Special Actions (that allow the story arc to develop in a way that could not be catered for by a set of predefined list of available orders).
